EDCI 4485: STUDENT TEACHING

Prerequisites: Admission to Teacher Education and Student Teaching. Observation, participation, and instruction in a school classroom in the student's major field. Cooperative supervision by selected classroom teachers and college faculty. (Course fee required.) (S/U grading)

ELEM 4235: SCIENCE IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

An examination of curriculum concepts, skills, and instructional methodologies appropriate for teaching science to young children. (Course fee required.) This course focuses instruction on the
simultaneous teaching of scientific knowledge and instructional considerations in teaching science in early childhood. Emphasis is placed on preparing students in terms of developing lesson plans, locating resources and materials for teaching science in Grades P-5.

ONTL 6205: FOUNDATIONS OF ONLINE TEACHING AND LEARNING

Prerequisite: Admission to the program or permission of the instructor. This course provides foundational knowledge and hands-on practices in developing fully online and blended courses using a learning management system. The different models, theories, and technologies used in the development and delivery of fully online learning will be examined. Participants will understand elements of an online course customized for use in their instructional setting including defining course goals and objectives, instructional lesson plans, activities, materials, and assessments. Students will complete an online field experience in a virtual school environment.
